The thing I really don't understand is where the govt gets off shutting down these sites. They broke the law in 1 country. Where does it say in international law that you can then prevent them from doing business in the rest of the world??
Wat ik echt niet begrijp, is waar de overheid mee begint door deze sites te sluiten. In 1 land hebben ze de wet overtreden. Waar staat in het internationaal recht dat je ze vervolgens kunt beletten zaken te doen in de rest van de wereld?

The Good Old Boy system is certainly still in effect. My taxes have nothing to do with the level of my voice of representation. Around here, there are so many loopholes for the rich, I doubt they proportionally pay as much taxes as the regular folks. So much just wrong with the way things are.

If indictments were handed down on April 26, then I dont understand why during the month of May I received multiple emails from Doyle's Room stating that it was a safe place to play while asking me to deposit there. I dont play poker on line. Go figure.
Quicktender took my money and Ill probably never see it. QT knew of the problems with their bank before my money was transmitted to QT and once it received my money, QT alleged it then sent my money to a frozen account(????) How believable is that?
They should have notified CP that they could not accept my winnings or in the alternative, reversed the winnings back to CP. Instead QT chose to take my money. They stole my money as far as I am concerned. Unethical to say the least. And what about insurance? Dont any of these places have insurance to cover problems or situations that compromise players' money?
Now, I have to wait and see if I will get my other winnings from CP. Doesnt look good, either.

Quicktender heeft mijn geld afgepakt en ik zal het waarschijnlijk nooit zien. QT was op de hoogte van de problemen met hun bank voordat mijn geld naar QT werd overgemaakt en zodra mijn geld werd ontvangen, beweerde QT dat het mijn geld vervolgens naar een bevroren rekening had gestuurd (????). Hoe geloofwaardig is dat?
Ze hadden CP moeten laten weten dat ze mijn winst niet konden accepteren, of anders de winst terug naar CP hadden moeten terugboeken. In plaats daarvan koos QT ervoor om mijn geld aan te nemen. Wat mij betreft hebben ze mijn geld gestolen. Op zijn zachtst gezegd onethisch. En hoe zit het met de verzekering? Heeft een van deze plaatsen geen verzekering die problemen of situaties dekt die het geld van spelers in gevaar brengen?
Nu moet ik afwachten of ik mijn overige winsten van CP zal krijgen. Ziet er ook niet goed uit.

Am I correct in assuming that the Justice Department is only seizing the gambling sites and shutting them down not for all countries but just temporarily to forbid US players? This is not world domination but just the attempt to stop all play from the US. Once the US players are no longer able to gamble at these sites, the prohibited sites are able to return to business as usual on whatever domain. And further to discourage the sites from accepting US players in the future or suffer recriminations. I also assume that there will be additional sites until the Justice Dept rid any and all sites that are currently accepting US players. I give them a year and there will be no sites or money processors that will dare to accept any players from the US. My prediction is that Once any gambling to offshore or overseas sites have been rid of all US players, the US government will legalize internet gambling in the states that will be taxable and other countries will be allowed to play at government controlled sanction sites. My 2 cent thoughts.

Dit is geen wereldheerschappij, maar slechts een poging om al het spel vanuit de VS te stoppen. Zodra de Amerikaanse spelers niet langer op deze sites kunnen gokken, kunnen de verboden sites weer normaal functioneren, op welk domein dan ook. En verder om de sites te ontmoedigen om in de toekomst Amerikaanse spelers te accepteren, anders worden er verwijten gemaakt. Ik ga er ook van uit dat er nog meer sites zullen zijn totdat het ministerie van Justitie alle sites heeft verwijderd die momenteel Amerikaanse spelers accepteren. Ik geef ze een jaar en er zullen geen sites of geldverwerkers zijn die spelers uit de VS durven te accepteren. Mijn voorspelling is dat zodra al het gokken op offshore- of overzeese sites van alle Amerikaanse spelers is verlost, de Amerikaanse overheid internetgokken zal legaliseren in de staten die belastbaar zullen zijn en dat andere landen zullen worden toegestaan om te spelen op door de overheid gecontroleerde sanctiesites. Mijn 2 cent gedachten.

The sites are "relocating" to other domain extensions but if you see that the site is seized by the DoJ, then I (UK) also see that it is seized. So it's the rest of the world too.

De sites "verhuizen" naar andere domeinextensies, maar als je ziet dat de site in beslag wordt genomen door het DoJ, dan zie ik (VK) ook dat er beslag op wordt gelegd. Het is dus ook de rest van de wereld.
