I have one with a story and once I started typing, I couldn't stop. My apologies in advance.  

I don’t usually write posts like this, but something happened to me recently that I feel is important to share, not just for myself, but for others who might one day find themselves in the same position.

About a month ago I hit a large jackpot while playing. For that split second, I was convinced my life had finally changed.  To give some context: I’ve been estranged from my abusive husband for nearly three years now. In that time, I’ve moved between friends’ and family’s homes so often I’ve lost count, at least seven times. I've developed a chronic illness due to stress which prevents me from working full time. (Even though I have about 5 other jobs aside from my part time job)  basically living 9 paychecks behind still trying to rebuild my life in a new world where everything is impossible to do on your own.  So when that jackpot flashed across my screen, I felt something I haven’t felt in years...  genuine hope. In those 30 seconds, I had already pictured curtains in my own place, and even thought about what I could order out for dinner that night..It wouldn't buy me a home, but it would have given some relief, even if it were only brief.  It wasn’t just a game win, it felt like freedom, stability, and the end of a very long, dark chapter. It felt like hope. Like maybe the world isn't against me. 
But then reality set in: I wasn’t eligible. Not for the $12,500, and not even for the smaller MCO credit because I had used free spins/chips prior. The high turned into one of the deepest lows I’ve experienced in a long time. And it’s something I still think about every single day. Honestly, it feels like a kind of PTSD, I can’t forget how high that hope lifted me and how devastating it was to have it ripped away.  The worst was I had to play it all away. Had to. I couldn't go around knowing the money I wasn't allowed to have was just sitting there. 

I know some will say, “Just don’t play.” And I understand that perspective. But truthfully, these games bring me joy in a way very little else does right now. They give me a few minutes where I can smile and forget everything I’ve been through. That’s why I’m writing this with the hope that maybe a change could be made... is it possible for the powers that be to maybe disable the jackpot feature for players who aren’t eligible? 

It may not sound like much, but for people like me, it could prevent a heartbreak that cuts much deeper than just losing a game. Even if this change can’t undo what happened to me, maybe it could save someone else from experiencing that same crushing disappointment.
