One good way of learning is to play in tournaments. Small buy-in tournaments where you can observe players and get to know the different types of players.
Also you might want to check out our free games section that has Texas Hold em to get some practice Here. Many poker sites have free play too where you can sharpen you poker skills.
There is poker school at some sites that offer helpful tips. As far as getting to know what beats what..get a little cheat card often found in a deck of cards and place on your screen as you play.

Firstly, a very warm welcome to LatestPokerBonuses.
Some very sound advice from Lips - thank you Lips.
When I first started playing online, I played as many freerolls as I could and also I played is an many play money tournaments and sitngos as I could. I never bothered with ring play, as skill at this type of game can only really be achieved with experience (my personal opinion).
Check out the freeroll thread for frequent and one-off games.
I hope these "pointers" help you and feel free to post any questions you have - we are here to help if you need it.
As for "how long to get good", it really all depends on you. How often you play, what you play and so on. Also, what do you consider to be "good"? Some players have a natural knack from the outset. If you have patience - you should do well.

Toen ik voor het eerst online begon te spelen, speelde ik zoveel freerolls als ik kon en speelde ik ook veel oefengeldtoernooien en sitngo's als ik kon. Ik heb me nooit beziggehouden met ringspel, omdat vaardigheid in dit soort spellen alleen echt kan worden bereikt met ervaring (mijn persoonlijke mening).

Wat betreft "hoe lang duurt het om goed te worden", het hangt echt allemaal van jou af. Hoe vaak je speelt, wat je speelt enzovoort. En wat vind jij ‘goed’? Sommige spelers hebben vanaf het begin een natuurlijk talent. Als je geduld hebt, zou je het goed moeten doen.
